You won't die laughing!
How to have less stress in your life and more fun.
You may die from stress, but you won't die laughing. Have you ever tried to lift something when you're laughing? You just can't summon the strength to do the lifting. The reason is that when you laugh, you lose control and relax.
Laughter is the exact opposite to that tense, tightly controlled feeling you get with stress.
Laughter may make you physically weak, but it can also make you strong in an emotional sense. That's why it's important to strengthen your sense of humour so can see the funny side of the things you can't change, especially those that cause stress. We've all had the experience of being caught up in a difficult situation unable to find a way out. Then we suddenly see the funny side and start smiling and having a bit of a laugh. The laughter acts as a circuit breaker before the system becomes overloaded and stressed.
Just as we've inherited the capacity for stress, we've also been supplied with the ability to laugh. Stress is the yin to laughter's yang; the night to laughter's day.
An evening of laughter, learning and fun
This is a light-hearted seminar on the serious business of stress. You'll be kept amused as you learn
how to feel more in control of your life and relaxed. You'll join in the smiles, chuckles, giggles and even belly laughs as you tickle your funny bone with our of stories, quips, cartoons and jokes.
Laughter loves company.
You'll discover the fun of 'humorobics' or sense of humour exercises to get you 'humour fit' so you can think, talk and be funny. (Relax - you won't be asked to do anything on the night.) This includes everything from where to find humour, how to tell jokes and stories and why we laugh at different things.
Why is it that the people who are great at remembering jokes, can't remember how many times they've already told it to you?
Amidst all the fun of the seminar, is some serious guidance on what to do about the things in your life that you can't control. We'll show you how to manage the way you feel so you feel less stressed and more in control. You'll be surprised how quickly you can get into a good mood and make it last.
It's not what happens to you, it's how you take it that counts.
With a new attitude and a stronger sense of humour you'll be ready for some great ideas for putting more fun into your life - especially in the workplace. Mystery friends, celebrations, fun attacks, magic meetings and dress-up days are just a sampling of the ideas that await you.
The key measure of success in our organisation is if I walk around and hear staff laughing. If I don't hear laughter, I know something's wrong.
